Subclass 190 – Tasmanian Skilled Employment (TSE) – Health and Allied Health Occupations
Tasmania has updated its eligible occupations under the Subclass 190 Skilled Employment Pathway, specifically for the health and allied health sectors. Applicants working in these occupations may be eligible for nomination after six months of employment in Tasmania.

Remote Work – Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway
The Established Resident Pathway now formally recognises remote work as a valid form of employment in Tasmania.
Remote work definition:
- You are residing in Tasmania but working remotely for a company or organisation based outside Tasmania (anywhere in Australia or overseas).
- The work involves providing services, expertise, or digital outputs (e.g. IT support, software development, consulting, design) to the external company.
- Example: A software engineer living in Hobart delivering backend development services to Google in California qualifies as remote work.
Important clarification:
- If you are working for a company outside Tasmania but delivering services to Tasmanian clients (at Tasmanian worksites), you will not be considered a remote worker. Instead, you will be classified as an employee of a Tasmanian business.
